Vans Custom Culture was created to inspire and empower high school students to embrace their creativity through art and design and to bring attention to diminishing arts education budgets. Vans believes everyone should be empowered to express themselves creatively and should be given the tools to do so. Custom Culture is a national high school customization competition using blank Vans shoes to be customized around specific themes.

Many of her drawings feature relatable alien beings on their own in nature and outer space. She is heavily influenced by sci-fi and fantasy, as well as a love of food, road trips, plants, stars, and dogs of all kinds.

Journeys is proud to support student artists, and has partnered with Vans Custom Culture for the past 8 years. Much like the VCC program, Journeys embraces youth culture, individuality, passion and style. Journeys will be the official Stage Sponsor at the final grand prize event, where a secret artist will perform for the winners' entire school. In addition, Journeys will provide a gift for the students on the Top 5 design teams in recognition of their accomplishments.
